Dior Rouge 999 Nail Polish Swatch

Let's start this new chapter with a bang, shall we? Red nail polish! Not just any red nail polish, but Dior Rouge 999.

New Beginnings

Wednesday, April 12, 2017

Today, nearly two years from my last blog post, The Perpetually Polished is making a shift. While I continue to love all of the things that originally inspired me to start this blog, I've decided to pursue and document different interests.

2 years older, 2 years wiser, and 2 years more exhausted than I was at the start of this blog, I've been inspired once again.

Instead of a polished lifestyle, I'll focus on my physical ability to be "Perpetually Polished" through nail polish, with the occasional post on other items in the beauty category.

I love a good nail polish blog, and I even used to have one of my own (right before the nail art craze, go figure! it was called "perpetually-polished") but many of those blogs focus on indie brands and nail art. When I'm choosing between nail polishes in the beauty department, I rarely find swatches of nail polish from department store brands. Furthermore, it is nearly impossible to see swatches with deeper skin tones. If I polish my nails every week (my duty as a perpetually polished woman), why not take pictures of them to help other people in a similar situation?

So, today begins the new creative direction of this blog. I hope you enjoy this new purpose/journey!

As an ode to what this blog once was, I present the original "About Me" explanation:

The Concept

A woman is a complex character, made up of several different types of women. My ideal woman, The Perpetually Polished Woman is what I strive to be on a daily basis. She is the refined culmination of what I consider to be the many different façades of a woman.
With that in mind, I've created the main categories of this blog.

The Categories

My inner-aristocrat that inspired me to create this blog. In the 21st century, I feel as though it may be ill-received if I were to glide through life the way that Blair Waldorf or Lady Mary (from Gossip Girl and Downton Abbey, respectively) do. All of my propensity for aristocracy and dreams of living within television shows will be released here… with a touch of reality, of course!

Whether it be from diving headfirst into a textbook, or simply imbibing the experiences of everyday life, she loves to learn, reflect, and share.

Attacking our wildest dreams, armed with a briefcase and 20 copies of her resume, she carries at least 30 business cards with her at all times and rocks a suit better than any man can. She’s going places.

Loving it or lusting after it, it’s tough to quell the materialistic desires burning in our hearts. The polished appearance is part of the package deal of a complete woman, is it not? Or so we tell ourselves…

Home is where the heart is, and that heart needs an elegant abode. Few things are more rewarding than a well-decorated home. There’s always room for improvement, but there definitely isn't any room left for furniture.

"Cobblestones and Cafe de Flore"
The Louvre, Monsieur Eiffel, and Musee d'Orsay.
Cappuccinos, croissants, croques, and crepes.
After a lovely vacation spent in Paris, reality has returned with a vengeance.

I may make a Paris post one day, but in the mean time, you can check out my Instagram for a couple pictures from my trip: here.

It has taken me so long to feel inspired to post again [sorry!] but today I've been inspired...

Are You Packing-Smart or Over-Packing?

Happy Easter, my darlings!

I am in dire need of a vacation.
The weather has just begun to break and I am breaking out my suitcase.
Easter Weekend is a brilliant start to a regenerating vacation.

Although R&R is high on my list, that is certainly no excuse to relax my wardrobe.
So... How do I pack what I need without including, well, everything in my closet?!
